The role focuses on downstream processing and integrating new equipment into existing manufacturing facilities to support brownfield expansions, facility upgrades, and commercialization projects.
About the Position
Seeking a Mid-Level Downstream Process Engineer with experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly mammalian cell culture, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, or therapeutic proteins. The role focuses on downstream processing and integrating new equipment into existing manufacturing facilities to support brownfield expansions, facility upgrades, and commercialization projects.
Key Responsibilities
- ✓Support downstream bioprocessing operations and equipment integration within existing manufacturing facilities.
- ✓Assist with equipment selection, installation, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- ✓Support brownfield expansions, commercialization initiatives, and large-scale capital projects.
- ✓Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- ✓Ensure process equipment and engineering activities comply with GMP/GxP requirements.
- ✓Support process scale-up, technology transfer, and integration of new systems into commercial manufacturing.
- ✓Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams to ensure effective bioprocessing operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- •Ideally 3–7 years of process engineering experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
- •Strong downstream bioprocessing and purification experience.
- •Experience with mammalian cell culture, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, or therapeutic proteins.
- •Hands-on knowledge of downstream processing equipment and commercial manufacturing systems.
- •Experience supporting brownfield projects, facility expansions, or commercialization.
- •Experience with equipment installation, upgrades, commissioning, or integration.
- •Strong understanding of GMP/GxP requirements in commercial manufacturing.
- •Experience supporting large-scale capital projects.
- •Experience working with equipment vendors, contractors, and engineering teams.
- •Knowledge of process scale-up and technology transfer into commercial manufacturing.
- •Understanding of upstream processes and end-to-end bioprocessing operations.
- •Strong technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
